HistoryIn 1968, several pastors and leaders had a vision to evangelize the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico for Christ. A missionary organization known as Faith Baptist Missions, Inc. (FBMI) was organized to work directly with the local Baptist Christian Churches in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. The work was to be known as “MISION YUCATAN”.
The Mission began its work with a Seminary in Yucatan, using their students in evangelism, discipleship, and church planting. It closed in 1998 and the Mission established their seminary in Merida, Yucatan called the International Baptist Christian Theological Seminary. Its educational goals and procedures were strict as any academically accredited seminary. The Seminary was moved to Plano, Texas in 2009 to seek USA academic accreditation. The Seminary was accredited in June 2012 with the Association of Independent Christian Colleges and Seminaries in St. Louis, Missouri. Texas became the headquarters for the Seminary and extensions in Mexico and Cuba. In October 2104, the Seminary name was changed to the Harlan College. It is a 501-C-3 Not for Profit Religious Instruction College. The College School of Christian Theology has various Christian Education directions. The College is missionary and channels their missionary emphasis through its students. Thus the evangelistic missionary work is accomplished through them and their local churches…in the USA, internationally, in the Yucatan Peninsula and Cuba. The College provides solid Scriptural Christian Education for its students. Their goal is to produce new International Christian Leadership! Today, Missionaries in the USA, internationally and in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico participate in the TRIANGLE MINISTRIES of the HARLAN COLLEGE. Our Lord has blessed the Christian Educational, Evangelistic Missionary, and local Christian Church development work of the College! TO GOD BE THE GLORY! |
