Lewis Yucatan Scholarship Fund
The Fund was named after a Brother in Christ Mr. Dallas Lewis a Brother in Christ, which a long time friend of the Lord’s Ministry in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. He was a member of the Board of Directors of our Mission until his Graduation in October 2013.
The Fund was established in 2015 to benefit the students in the extensions of the Harlan College School of Christian Theology. The Director is Rose Carter of Conroe, Texas. The Fund only offers scholarships to students who are enrolled in their extensions located in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. Dallas prayer and desire was for the Mayan Disciples in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico to be prepared to be missionaries to their people and to the World. His goal was to assist them to become accurately educated and prepared in the Sacred Scriptures of the Holy Bible though our School of Christian Theology. Therefore, they would be thoroughly prepared to plan and plant other local churches beginning in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico and to the world.
The Harlan College School of Christian Theology work in Mexico is directed through a Not for Profit Mexican Civil Association, Harlan College Association Civil (HCAC). The College's extensions are located in Merida, Yucatan, Tenosique, Tabasco and Cancun, Quintana Roos MEXICO. The three Extensions have ten Centers for Christian Theology.

The definition of a Lewis Yucatan Scholarship is:
1. A study scholarship for a predetermined portion of the matriculation.
2. The student responsibility is to pay for their portion of matriculation.
3. The Fund pays the extension for these costs.
4. The student must maintain a 8.0 GPA.
5. The student must have good citizenship.
The qualifications of a scholarship candidate are:
- They must be a born again Christian and practicing disciple.
- They must write out their 'salvation story'.
- They must write, if their is one, out their ‘call to ministry’.
- They must present a letter from the church where they belong stating their participation(s) in any leader-ship role(s) or being an assistant/volunteer to someone else.
- They must state in writing how a study scholarship would benefit them in accomplishing their spiritual goal(s) to further their education.
- They must have proof of a high school diploma or GED.
- Considerations for the scholarship is a high school GPA (grade point average) must be at least 7.5 or a 'high C' in order to meet the requirements. The GPA will be submitted in writing (or electronically) when applying.
- The Degree being sought will be stated: Associates Degree (60 hrs.), Bachelors Degree (120 hrs.), Masters Degree (195 hrs.), Doctorate Degree (275 hrs.
Application:
- The application is made through "Harlan College" and submitted through the Fund for approval.
- The applicant must fulfill all requirements before submitting the application.
- The applicant must covenant together with the Fund and College to pray and work to complete the class.
- Applicant must serve God submitting an activity report monthly to the College. A monthly service report, including community/church service or ministry, should be included as well. (Keeping a calendar of events that one participated in, led or cosponsored might be helpful and useful).
- The reporting of seminary grades should come 2 times (2Xs) with 'proof of text or sample of work completed in each class, each semester.

NOTE: The scholarship recipient has a Scriptural Stewardship Accountability (SSA) to repay the used portion of the
scholarship back to the Fund, if the student does not fulfill the 'requirements’ of completing the Unit of Study.
- The Harlan College does not charge a tuition fee, only a set Matriculation fee.
- The scholarship pays for 75% of the student's matriculation costs.
- The scholarship is for one Unit of Study (Five subjects = 15 c/h) at a time and is renewable for each succeeding Unit.
- The Fund will pay for only the student’s portion of their matriculation costs.
- The student must purchase and pay for their own study materials from the extension, required by the course subjects.
- Basic supplies needed for classes are: course study guides, MacArthur Study Bible, Complete set of Lewis Sperry Chafers Systematic Theology books, a Bible Commentary, a Bible Dictionary, a Bible Atlas. You will also need paper and pen and access to computer.
Definition:
- The scholarship is for one Unit of Study (Five subjects = 15 c/h) at a time and is renewable for each succeeding Unit.
- The student may apply for a complete Unit Study Scholarship for the Degree sought, but it must be renewed for each Unit of Study for that Degree.
